Shopping in the Bush

Going hunting in the mangroves for mud mussels and long bums. Also a little look at one of the beaches and doing some fishing.

Tiwi people love bush tucker. Some of the things we get in the mangroves are mud crabs, long bums, mud mussels, periwinkles and mangroves worms. We also love eating fish. Watch this video to check out one fishing spot and see what it’s like in the mangroves.

Indigenous Literacy Day is proudly presented by the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, a charity with a vision of equity of opportunity for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children living in remote Australia.
